Richard and I had built a life together, raising five children and facing every challenge as a family. I had trusted him through the difficult years, even when I was battling cancer and he accompanied me to chemotherapy appointments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then one afternoon, I surprised him at work with lunch and heard him speaking affectionately to another woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was Patricia, someone from our church whom I had considered a friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I confronted him, Richard barely seemed bothered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He told me he wanted to \u201ctry something new\u201d and claimed that staying with one woman forever was boring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next letter reminded Richard of a promise he had made to always be there for his daughter Sarah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richard became furious and accused me of turning the children against him. I explained that I had never forced them to make any decisions. They were speaking for themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then Richard made things worse by threatening to cut the children off financially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s when Clarissa stood up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She reminded him that she had paid for much of the wedding and had only agreed to help because he promised to take responsibility for his children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also revealed that the beautiful house Richard had promised Patricia was actually hers. She had bought it years earlier and had only considered transferring it to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richard had told Patricia it belonged to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clarissa announced that she would no longer fund his lifestyle or transfer the house. Patricia immediately began demanding answers from her new husband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Clarissa gathered Emily’s papers, reassured her that she had done nothing wrong, and asked if we were ready to leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I took Emily’s hand, and we walked out together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At home, our other four children were waiting. When Emily told them what had happened, everyone burst into laughter. Even Clarissa joined us for dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
