According to the Mayo Clinic, a brain aneurysm occurs when a blood vessel in the brain weakens and forms a bulge, similar to a small berry hanging from a stem. If this bulge leaks or bursts, it can lead to bleeding in the brain, known as a hemorrhagic stroke. Most ruptures happen in the space between the brain and its protective layers, causing a subarachnoid hemorrhage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medical experts highlight that early detection of symptoms can save lives. One of the most common and serious warning signs is a sudden, intense headache that people often describe as the worst headache they have ever experienced. Other possible symptoms include blurred or double vision, confusion, nausea, vomiting, neck stiffness, sensitivity to light, fainting, seizures, and weakness or numbness on one side of the body. In some cases, a person may also notice a drooping eyelid or a dilated pupil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Brain Aneurysm Foundation explains that severe headaches are often the earliest indication that an aneurysm may be leaking. This warning stage, sometimes called a sentinel bleed, can occur days before a full rupture. Because of this, experiencing multiple symptoms at the same time should be treated as a medical emergency, and immediate hospital care is essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doctors also point out that while the exact cause of brain aneurysms is not fully understood, certain factors can increase risk. These include older age, being female, high blood pressure, smoking, heavy alcohol or drug use, and a history of head injury or infections affecting blood vessels. In some cases, people may even be born with a weakness in their blood vessel walls, making them more vulnerable later in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because symptoms can appear suddenly and escalate quickly, medical professionals stress the importance of not ignoring early warning signs.
