But two weeks later, a growing sense of guilt became impossible to ignore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I told myself I was simply stopping by to check in. Yet the moment I stepped through the front door, I knew something wasn’t right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The walls of the living room were covered with drawings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When he noticed me standing there, he opened his eyes and managed a small smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes the greatest gift we can give another person isn’t advice, money, or promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
