To mark the occasion, he invited his entire family to dinner at a restaurant. The night started off wonderfully, with plenty of laughter, conversation, and shared excitement over his achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everything changed when the check arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout their marriage, the couple had chosen to keep their finances separate, and that arrangement had worked well for years. He argued that she should cover the bill for now and promised to reimburse her once the bonus was deposited. She, however, felt blindsided and believed it was unfair to place that responsibility on her without discussing it beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As emotions rose, the disagreement continued right there in the restaurant. Feeling uncomfortable with the situation, she decided to pay only for her own meal before leaving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The argument didn&#8217;t end when they got home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soon afterward, members of his family began contacting her, expressing disappointment and insisting she should have paid for the dinner.
