I’m 29, and after dating my boyfriend, Mike, for more than two years, I thought our relationship was moving toward a serious future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had talked about long-term plans, shared holidays together, and everything felt stable. So when he invited me to meet his parents for the first time, I was excited, even if I was a little nervous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We met at a comfortable neighborhood restaurant where his parents were already waiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the introductions, Mike casually joked that I had remembered to bring my wallet because everyone was hungry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
