The morning felt different from the start. Cool air drifted through the room as a thin beam of sunlight slipped through the curtains, stretching across the floor like a quiet promise. I woke with an unexpected sense of lightness—something deeper than routine, something I couldn’t quite explain. It was as if a small voice inside me was whispering that today mattered.
Carefully, I got out of bed so I wouldn’t wake him and walked to the bathroom. My hands trembled as I reached for the small box hidden in the cabinet. I told myself it was just another check, nothing more than hope repeating itself. But this time felt… different. A minute later, I looked down—and everything stopped. Two lines. Clear as day. My breath caught, my eyes filled, and my heart raced with disbelief, joy, and a love I couldn’t even put into words. In that moment, everything changed.
I walked back into the bedroom, holding the test like it was something sacred. He was still asleep, peaceful and unaware. I sat beside him and gently woke him. “What is it?” he asked softly, still half-dreaming. I couldn’t speak. I just placed the test in his hand.
He looked at it… then at me… then back again. His eyes widened, filling with emotion as a slow, beautiful smile spread across his face. He pulled me close, holding me tightly.
“We’re going to be parents,” he whispered.
And just like that, our world grew bigger—filled with hope, love, and a future we had only dreamed about.
