Hillary Clinton drew strong backlash online after commenting on President Trump’s military parade celebrating the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary, with critics accusing her of disrespecting the armed forces.
She shared a post on X comparing images from the Washington, D.C. parade with photos of nationwide “No Kings Day” protests. In her caption, she referred to the parade as a “low-energy” event and criticized its reported cost, while highlighting demonstrations across the country that promoted anti-monarchy and anti-deportation messages.
Her post included visuals from cities like Los Angeles and Houston alongside scenes from the parade, including military flyovers and tanks moving down Constitution Avenue. She also disabled replies to the post.
The parade reportedly drew hundreds of thousands of attendees and coincided with Trump’s birthday and Flag Day. At the same time, “No Kings” protests were held nationwide, some of which turned violent in certain cities.
Clinton’s remarks quickly sparked criticism from conservative commentators and social media users, many of whom accused her of showing hostility toward the military and questioned her respect for service members. Others also criticized her for attending a high-profile wedding in the Hamptons over the same weekend, suggesting a contrast between her personal activities and her public statements.
The wedding of longtime aide Huma Abedin and Alex Soros was attended by several prominent political and public figures, adding further attention to Clinton’s weekend activities alongside her online comments.
