A woman from Turkey continues her search for answers about her family history after a court dismissed her claim that she may be biologically related to U.S. President Donald Trump.
Necla Özmen, 55, from Ankara, has spent recent years pursuing a legal case centered on a story she says was revealed to her by her mother shortly before her death. According to Özmen, she grew up believing she was the biological daughter of the parents who raised her. However, she later learned information that led her to question her origins and seek further answers.
Her claim eventually reached a family court in Ankara, where she requested legal recognition of paternity and asked for a DNA test to determine whether a biological connection exists.
The court ultimately rejected the case, stating that there was insufficient evidence to support moving forward with the claim. According to the ruling, no documentation or verifiable records were presented that could substantiate the allegations or justify further legal proceedings.
Despite the decision, Özmen has continued to speak publicly about her desire to learn more about her background. She maintains that her efforts are not motivated by money or politics, but by a personal desire to understand her identity and family history.
According to her account, the story dates back to 1970 and involves circumstances surrounding her birth that she believes were kept secret for decades. She says information shared by her mother prompted her to investigate further and ultimately pursue legal action.
In interviews, Özmen has repeatedly emphasized that she is seeking clarity rather than conflict. She has stated that a DNA test would provide a definitive answer and help resolve questions she has carried for years.
Although the Turkish court dismissed the lawsuit, she has not abandoned her efforts. Reports indicate that she has appealed the ruling and is also exploring legal avenues outside Turkey. Working with legal representatives, she hopes to continue pursuing opportunities that could potentially allow further examination of her claim.
For now, however, no evidence has publicly confirmed the alleged family connection, and the court’s decision remains in place.
The case has attracted significant media attention because of the unusual nature of the claim and the high-profile individual involved. Yet at its core, Özmen says the issue is deeply personal.
Rather than focusing on public attention, she describes her goal as finding answers to questions about her origins and discovering whether the story she was told is true.
Until additional evidence emerges, the claim remains unverified, and the search for answers continues.
