Experts Warn This Common Car-Starting Habit Could Lead to Long-Term Vehicle Problems

Experts Reveal a Simple Car Habit That Could Affect Engine Life

Many drivers start their vehicles and immediately hit the road, thinking they are saving time. However, mechanics say this routine may put extra stress on the engine over time.

When a car has been parked for hours, much of the engine oil settles at the bottom of the system. After starting the engine, the oil needs a short amount of time to circulate and properly protect important moving parts.

Driving away too quickly can increase friction before the engine is fully lubricated, which may contribute to wear on internal components over the long term.

Experts suggest allowing the vehicle a brief moment to stabilize after starting, especially during colder weather when oil moves more slowly. They also recommend avoiding heavy acceleration until the engine reaches normal operating conditions.

A small change in your daily driving routine could help reduce unnecessary strain and support better engine performance over the years.
