The Three Mothers Who Compared Their Sons
Three women were chatting together when their conversation gradually turned into a friendly competition over which of their children had accomplished the most. Each woman was eager to share her son’s success.
The first woman proudly said, “My son graduated at the top of his class at Oxford. He became a doctor and now earns $250,000 a year in Chicago. We couldn’t be more proud of him.”
The second woman smiled and replied, “That’s impressive, but my son also graduated at the top of his class, from Cambridge. He’s now a successful lawyer in Los Angeles earning $500,000 a year. He’s worked incredibly hard to get where he is.”
The third woman had been listening quietly. Finally, she said, “Well, my son wasn’t much of a student. He never went to university, and his grades were ordinary. But today, he earns one million pounds a year in London as a sports repairman.”
The other two women looked at her in confusion.
“A sports repairman?” one asked. “What does he repair?”
The woman smiled proudly.
“Oh, you know… hockey games, football games, snooker games…”
The other women stared at her, unsure whether she was serious or simply joking.
The Three Men Who Tried To Cross The River
One day, three men were traveling through the mountains when they suddenly came upon a huge, raging river. The current was powerful, the water was moving dangerously fast, and there was no bridge or boat anywhere nearby.
They needed to reach the other side, but crossing seemed almost impossible.
The first man fell to his knees and prayed, “God, please give me the strength to cross this river.”
Suddenly, he became incredibly strong. His arms and legs grew powerful, and he felt capable of taking on the river.
He jumped into the water and began fighting the current. Several times he nearly drowned, but after almost two exhausting hours, he finally reached the opposite shore.
The second man watched what happened and decided to ask for something more practical.
“God,” he prayed, “give me the strength and the tools I need to get across.”
Immediately, a rowboat appeared.
He climbed into it and began rowing. The river was still rough, and the waves nearly overturned the boat several times, but after about an hour of hard work, he eventually made it safely across.
The third man had watched both of them carefully.
He thought, If strength and tools can help, maybe intelligence will make things even easier.
So he prayed, “God, give me strength, tools, and the wisdom to cross this river.”
Suddenly, there was a bright flash.
And just like that, God turned him into a woman.
She studied the map, examined the river, and realized there was a bridge a few hundred yards upstream.
She simply walked over to the bridge and crossed safely.
The other two men could only stare in disbelief.
Sometimes, the best solution isn’t having more strength or better tools. Sometimes, it’s simply looking at the problem from a completely different perspective.
The Faithful Husband Who Received The Wrong Reward
Three men stood at the gates of Heaven waiting to find out what reward they had earned.
An angel explained that their rewards would depend on two things: how long they had been with their last partner and how faithful they had remained.
The first man stepped forward.
“I was married for five years,” he admitted, “but I cheated on my wife three times.”
The angel shook his head and handed him the keys to an old pickup truck.
The second man approached.
“I was married for eleven years, and I only cheated once.”
The angel nodded approvingly and gave him the keys to a Mercedes.
The man happily drove away.
Finally, the third man stepped forward.
“I was married for twenty years,” he said. “I never cheated on my wife. We loved each other deeply, and I stayed faithful to her until the very end.”
The angel was impressed.
“Twenty years of loyalty deserves the finest reward.”
He handed the man the keys to a gold Lamborghini.
The man was thrilled and drove away, easily passing the other two.
Several hours later, the first two men caught up with him at a small diner along the heavenly road.
But instead of celebrating his amazing reward, they found him sitting alone at a table, crying his eyes out.
One of them approached him.
“You received the best reward of all. Why are you crying?”
The man wiped away his tears and replied sadly,
“About thirty minutes ago, I passed my wife…”
He paused.
“…and she was riding a skateboard.”
The two men stared at him in silence.
At that moment, they realized that sometimes the reward you receive isn’t nearly as important as the reward someone else received.
And somewhere further along the road to Heaven, a very faithful woman was probably enjoying a much smoother ride.
The final joke turns faithfulness into an ironic reward, making the contrast between the husband’s Lamborghini and his wife’s skateboard the story’s punchline; rewrite it with a warmer, more heartfelt ending while keeping the humor intact.
