Classic Jokes With Unexpected Punchlines
Some classic jokes are funny because you can usually guess where the story is going—until the final line changes everything.
A Texan visiting Australia starts bragging about how huge everything is back home. After seeing the Australian’s fields and cattle, he proudly claims Texas has even bigger ones. Then he points at a group of kangaroos and asks what they are.
The Australian simply replies, “Don’t you have grasshoppers in Texas?”
Another farmer gets into trouble after inspectors repeatedly question how he feeds his pigs. When one answer gets him fined for underfeeding them and another for overfeeding them, he finally gives the only answer he thinks will keep everyone happy: “I give them money and let them buy their own food.”
And sometimes the best jokes come from completely unexpected answers. A man who regularly gives money to a beggar eventually explains that he has to reduce the amount because his children are starting college.
The beggar pauses and says, “I hope you don’t plan to educate all of them at my expense!”
