Long before Dolly Parton became a household name, she was simply one of twelve children growing up in a humble cabin in the Smoky Mountains. Raised by Robert Lee and Avie Lee, the six boys and six girls learned the value of faith, hard work, family and music.

Dolly’s sisters each followed their own unique paths. Willadeene became an author, while Stella and Cassie shared their musical talents on stage. Freida eventually devoted herself to ministry, and Rachel found success on television with 9 to 5.

Her brothers largely lived away from the spotlight. Bobby, David and Denver chose more private lives, while Randy performed at Dollywood and Floyd became a talented songwriter who worked alongside Dolly. The family also experienced heartbreak, losing baby Larry at a young age, followed years later by the deaths of Floyd, Randy, David and Denver.
